My trip to Prado VW show & shine June 2016.

I went to Prado regional park in Chino, Calif this morning to attend the El Prado VW show & shine.

This is the first time I attended the show because I have been attending the VW classic show for a few years. A couple of my friends encouraged me to attend the El Prado VW show because it is bigger (according to them) & more affordable. I have to agree with them because VW shows are beginning to be expensive. At the VW classics in Costa Mesa, they charge $20 per person plus a $7 parking fee. Over at El Prado show, they charge just $20 per vehicle regardless of how many persons are in that vehicle. If you are a vendor, it is more economical to just be at the El Prado show.

I have to admit El Prado VW show is more relaxed because they have a lake nearby, a camping ground behind the show area, and the swap meet sellers are not rushing for the best spot.

I walked around the swap meet & saw lots of parts I wanted to buy but held myself back because I know my spouse will kill me if I bring home more rusted metal parts. While walking around I spotted a vintage Hazet hand tool. The seller wants $10 for it & he would not budge on the price. I know it is a good price but I decided to walk around some more to check the other sellers. I came back to it but the hazel tool was gone. Fortunately, the seller has another Hazet tool. I also spotted underneath a pile of other parts a second Hazet tool. I paid $20 for both of them. It was a good buy because I would like to build a collection of vintage Hazet tools. I could also resell them on a later date hopefully for a small profit.

I also bought two VW t-shirts and decided to stop spending before I go crazy & lose my wallet. Unlike other VW guys out there that have deep pockets, I have a limit budget when it comes to my VW hobby. Middle earners like myself have to be careful not to spend beyond our means.

I would definitely start going to Prado VW show from now on because I really enjoyed the show without hurting my wallet.

These are the two Hazel tools I bought for a good price.

This gentleman found peace in front of his bus that he decided to take a nap.  Cool :-)
